The Gertrude Trials
Aidan looks down at Gertrude from the screen, expressionless. Then, an evil grin crosses his face, and paired with the deceptive kindness of his eyes, Gertrude realizes she is in big trouble.
"And who says I follow your instructions?," he chuckles devilishly. "For months now, I am behind everything you do. The food you eat, the movies you watch, the pills you take, the people you call. Don't you see, Mrs. Farington? I'm in every single aspect of your life. Take me away... you might as well be dead."
Gertrude gasps. She reaches for the ashtray on her centretable, and, in a sudden reaction, tosses it against the screen. It cracks right on Aidan's pearly white smile -- and he does not like it one bit.
Aidan's eyebrows are raised, his eyes are widened, full of shock -- but not afraid. Suddenly, a cacophony of clinks and clangs fill every room and wall in the house, and Gertrude falls to her seat, feeling her sick heart fail to beat any faster.
